In class we have been writing pick a path stories for writing and here is mine.

How to Plant a Tree

It is important that we help our environment and as as result feed the native birds by planting lots of native trees in our gardens. Here are some instructions to help you do this.

Materials:

• Seedlings
• Shovel
• Water
• Fertilizer tablet
• 4 Bamboo stakes
• Mallet
• Plastic casing

   

Instructions

1. Dig a hole, twice the size of the rootball.
2. Put the seedling in the hole.
3. Cover the hole with dirt and firm down with your foot.
4. Hammer in three bamboo stakes around the tree.
5. Put the plastic cover over the three stakes and the plant to protect it from nibbling animals.
6. Hammer the fourth stake in in the last corner.
7. Water the tree generously.
8. Go back and clear away weeds from the tree base.

If you do this the environment will grow making more place for birds to live so you wake up to there song.

Make your own volcano

Wonders: I wonder why some worked and some didn't.  One salt worked and the other salt didn't.  I tasted them to make sure we labeled them right.  The red salt and the sugar one had cracks in egg shell.  Therefore the liquid was not as high.  The crystals formed at the bottom rather than around the top maybe because the liquid was not so high.  They all formed little crystals on the outside.  Why are there bits of crystal on the outside?  Is it because the liquid leaks out?  Are there little holes in the egg so the chick can have air as it is formed? The  sugar one formed a ring of crystals on the outside because of the crack and there was liquid sitting under the egg.

Marae visit

These are some things that we saw on our Marae visit. Tuna means eel and patiki means flounder.

Home learning personal project

I  love Lego!
That's why I did a personal project on Lego. This is a fort, it has got two cars and a control tower. Its ready for the enemy to attack.
           

Maths times tables

In maths I used a app to do my times tables. I did the 3 and 5s. The 3`s are red the blue and green are the 5`s.
