How to Plant a Tree

It is important that we help our environment and as as result feed the native birds by planting lots of native trees in our gardens. Here are some instructions to help you do this.


Materials:
  • Seedlings
  • Shovel
  • Water
  • Fertilizer tablet
  • 4 Bamboo stakes
  • Mallet
  • Plastic casing
   
Instructions
  1. Dig a hole, twice the size of the rootball.
  2. Put the seedling in the hole.
  3. Cover the hole with dirt and firm down with your foot.
  4. Hammer in three bamboo stakes around the tree.
  5. Put the plastic cover over the three stakes and the plant to protect it from nibbling animals.
  6. Hammer the fourth stake in in the last corner.
  7. Water the tree generously.
  8. Go back and clear away weeds from the tree base.


If you do this the environment will grow making more place for birds to live so you wake up to there song.
